Hi! It is obvious with all of our beautiful decorations that the holidays are in full swing here at the resort. Also, throughout our city, many much loved festivities are taking place! Last Tuesday was the 53rd Annual Christmas on Las Olas, and, wow, I think this year had record attendance and energy! I remember when I was a little girl (about 40 years ago) and we would walk down Las Olas that evening and visit the different stores enjoying a homemade cookie or two from a pretty party plate. I can vividly remember the Tack Room and their delicious holiday treats. I think Santa may have come back then, too, and there was definitely Christmas music playing through the streets. We thought it was wonderful and looked forward to it every year. But that was nothing compared to the way it is now!

Sledding and ice skating are just a few activities to choose from. Personally, I love to stroll up and down the boulevard and listen to the various choirs and eventually grab dinner at one of the many fine restaurants. This year we sat in the garden at Louie Bossi and tried their salumi and bruschetta. What a great evening! My kids loved that there was Polar Express showing right on Las Olas! Everyone seemed to be having an amazing time and really getting into the holiday spirit.

This Saturday, practically our whole city will be watching the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade, known as 12 miles of the “Greatest Show on H2O”. Chris and I will be watching from a friend’s house and we can hardly wait. We will post pictures of our favorite boats on Instagram so please follow us if you are not already! This weekend we will also be taking the kids to the Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant at the First Baptist Church. We go every year and it is probably the most amazing show I have ever seen in my life. We are so grateful to have so many incredible experiences right in our own town. We love Fort Lauderdale!
