Hi! Omg….The kids are back in school and we are trying to get back into a routine after an awesome summer. Last weekend was the last official weekend of summer, as this is our first full week of school, and I have to say that we really made the most of every moment this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Lago Mar!

Friday afternoon, we went straight from school to the resort and had an amazing evening with friends. Friday nights are great at Lago Mar because those of us that have kids can enjoy cocktails and dinner with other adults and the kids can have an equally good time. I especially love sitting at the tables by the Promenade Bar watching the kids on the playground with the ocean in the background while listening to Craig playing island music on the lagoon island. It is so easy for our members to feel as though they have been beamed to a tropical paradise within a short distance from their house! Another remarkable concept that I particularly noticed last Friday evening was that Lago Mar is a great venue for adults with kids to socialize with adults that are single or couples without kids. Everyone and anyone has a great time here.

I believe we ate about 5 or 6 meals at the resort over the weekend and I have some new favorites. I am in love with the Shrimp and Clam Garganelli that is on the Acquario dinner menu. It consists of shrimp, clams, sautéed spinach, parmesan cheese and a creamy lemongrass lobster sauce that is delicious! Also, I am obsessed with the Lobster and Avocado Salad on the lunch menu! Demi’s new favorite is the Key West Shrimp salad, which you can find a great picture of on our Instagram (@lagomarresort). We make sure to post often if not everyday, including photos of the resort, the food and even sometimes guests enjoying what we have to offer. We would love it if you checked it out or maybe even followed us.

Something else that we did over this past weekend that was a first for us was snorkeling in the ocean, which was very clear and the perfect temperature. Chris actually saw several lobsters and Demi saw a plethora of colorful fish. The smaller kids constructed a great sand castle that resembled a sea turtle to celebrate the many turtle nests that we have on property. Looking forward to many more mini vacations right around the corner from our house!
