Mother’s Day has always held a special place in my heart. As a mother of four, I’ve long believed it shouldn’t be just one day—it should be an entire month. After all, motherhood is not a part-time role, and the love, energy, and devotion it requires certainly deserve more than 24 hours of recognition.

That’s part of why I look forward to this time of year at Lago Mar. There’s something so meaningful about seeing families come together to celebrate the women who hold everything together.

This year, I’m especially excited about Chef Grant’s Mother’s Day  Buffet—a beautiful way to turn appreciation into an experience. Some of the highlights include fresh snapper with a delicate lobster cream sauce, oven-roasted airline chicken breast, and slow-roasted pork loin, all thoughtfully prepared to make the evening feel truly special.

But what makes the day even more memorable is how it can unfold from start to finish. Imagine beginning with a relaxing morning on our private beach—perhaps a daybed, the ocean breeze, and nowhere to be but present—followed by an elegant, celebratory dinner with the people who matter most.

It’s simple, but it’s meaningful. And in my opinion, that’s exactly what Mother’s Day should be.
