Hi! I am SO looking forward to Mother’s Day! I love receiving all of the cute things the kids make for me and I even get to see a show or two, in my honor, at their school. I also love our Mother’s Day tradition.
As a family, the kids, Chris and I love to spend that Sunday at the resort, enjoying Chef Phil’s Mother’s Day Brunch. He does an amazing job like always with his Prime Rib Carving Station, Brioche French Toast Station and Omelet Station, as well as the many other delicious dishes to choose from. I am personally looking forward to the Poached King Salmon with tarragon citrus dressing. I love to eat salmon at Lago Mar because we serve only Wild Salmon, which is not true for most restaurants. I am also dying for the White Cheddar Whipped Potatoes. Since it is Mother’s Day I will definitely cheat on my diet!
Our new buffet room is such a perfect setting to display Chef’s culinary creations and it adds so much to the wonderful celebration for us “mothers”. After brunch, we park ourselves at the beach under an umbrella and just relax all day. The kids always make a sandcastle for me – so cute! I think I may even sip on a margarita. I will choose one of our famous “skinny girl margaritas” and that will make up for the cheddar whipped potatoes I had earlier.
Another cute tradition we have is the kids go shopping in the Resort Shop for some gifts for me (I always secretly let Amber know what I want in advance), maybe a Brighton wallet or a new Lilly Pulitzer beach bag. I also love this Trina Turk cover-up I saw the other day. I think since I have 4 kids I should pick out 4 gifts so I found a Mudpie packable visor that I put on my list to take out on Chris’s new boat.
