Hi! Honestly, it is difficult for me to write my usual upbeat fun blog when our nation is in such horrible chaos/crisis. I pray for the people who have contracted the Coronavirus and hope they get well soon. Also, I am praying for our economy and all of the people that are deeply affected by businesses that are suffering so much. We understand as we have had several groups cancel and individuals, too, because they are afraid to fly.

If you were to walk around our pool area you would never know there was a pandemic. All of our new promenade tables have guests/members enjoying lunch while their kids play nearby. Our new shaded area under the Sea Grapes is filled with those who seek shade. On the other side of the Lagoon Pool, guests are loving the new deck we created as an area for sunbathers who want to bask. The ocean is absolutely gorgeous and there is not a cloud in the sky. We are hoping that things will settle down soon and, in the meantime, that maybe Floridians will drive to Lago Mar for a staycation. If you do book a staycation at our resort because of my blog please email me at debbiesnyder@mac.com and I will do something special for you when you arrive.

We are looking forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! On Tuesday we will open Acquario at 5:30 and serve traditional Irish dinners, such as Corned Beef & Cabbage, Bangers and Mash, and Irish Stout Braised Lamb Shank. At the Promenade Bar and in the Lounge we will be featuring a Fuzzy Leprechaun, which is Peach Schnapps, Blue Caracao, Vodka, Orange Juice and Pineapple Juice garnished with Orange and Cherry. In addition, we will offer an Irish Buck, Irish Whiskey with fresh Lime juice and ginger ale, and a Leprechaun Martini!

Chris, the kids and I can hardly wait to dine at the resort that evening. With St. Patrick’s Day being on a weeknight, we have decided to start the celebration early to enjoy it all through the weekend. We will be adding some festive items to the Promenade Bar and Walkway, starting this Saturday and running through Tuesday, such as a delicious Corned Beef Sandwich and a decadent Shepherd’s Pie, our ground lamb version served with creamy mashed potatoes topped with Cheddar Cheese. My kids absolutely love Chef Grant’s Shepherd’s Pie!

I think we could all use a treat right now with all of the crazy unfortunate things going on in the world. I hope to see all of our resort guests and members in their green this weekend.

A note about COVID-19 precautions:

Our dedicated housekeeping team already has very thorough cleaning procedures in place, however, given the current situation, we are elevating our cleaning practices to keep the resort a safe and welcoming space for relaxing and unwinding. Some of these new procedures include providing hand sanitizer stations and frequent cleaning of high-touch areas.

We continue to monitor the coronavirus updates and follow the recommended procedures and protocols by the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local authorities.
