Hi! I just wanted to share a great experience the girls had with Chef Phil last week. He invited them to spend a couple of hours in the kitchen learning about food preparation while meeting the staff and reviewing daily procedures. They especially loved our staff member nicknamed “Winnie the Pooh”. He is responsible for the delicious fresh bread we serve at night and also the vegetables that accompany each entree. The highlight was that they actually had the opportunity to prepare a Grouper dish. With a little help from Chef Phil, they learned how to pistachio-crust a filet of fish, sear it, and plate it in an aesthetically pleasing way. They loved it!
Besides having a great time, both girls came away with a deeper culinary knowledge, a closer rapport with the staff and an incredible dinner in the process! Next time they will learn to expedite the food and garnish the plates! Stay tuned! Deb
