Hi! I cannot believe how busy we have been at Lago Mar. We are actually having the best February we’ve had in the history of the resort!
The weather has been incredible. Despite a few cold days, the sun kept shining so much that it felt warm by mid-afternoon.
Valentine’s Day weekend as a hit too! Of course, Chef Phil outdid himself again with a spectacular holiday menu. I am still hearing from members about the delicious grilled shrimp with butternut squash salad and the citrus vanilla poached lobster tail with sweet potato puree and vanilla citrus butter sauce.
Speaking of Chef Phil, he recently attended South Beach Wine and Food Festival and said he had an amazing experience. He enjoyed spending time with several celebrity chefs (see some celeb chef below) and, of course, enjoying the different wines and food.
On the topic of chefs and restaurants, earlier this week, I found out first hand that there is a phenomenal restaurant coming to the 17th Street Causeway, about two minutes from the resort, and it will open in October. I am sworn to secrecy for now but I will let you know more soon. I am so excited for our hotel guests and myself to have such a great restaurant so close.
Another little bit of exciting news I can share with you is something happening with our sister property in Costa Rica. Sharon Stone is arrived Wednesday and will be spending her birthday with my brother and his staff at his resort! She will be tweeting from there @sharonstone so stay tuned!
