fort lauderdale restaurants September 17, 2015 3:53 pm

Hi! Monday night I went to 15th Street Fisheries for dinner and enjoyed “Dine Out Lauderdale”, which is a six-week celebration of our top restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. There are more than 35 restaurants participating by offering specially-created, three course menus at a $35 fixed price. I absolutely love 15th Street Fisheries, upstairs and downstairs, so I decided to go there.

If Chris and I take the kids out with us we usually sit downstairs because it is more casual and the kids can run out to the docks and feed the tarpon. Monday night, however, I took a girlfriend for her birthday so we chose to “fine dine” and therefore sat upstairs. We had an amazing experience enjoying the views of the intracoastal while we feasted on three courses.  For the first course I tried the Raspberry Mixed Greens Salad and then for my main course I ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi and it was delicious!  The cheddar cheese polenta and sautéed escarole that came with it were incredible! I even allowed myself a small piece of the rum raisin bread that they are famous for and have been serving for years and it was worth every calorie!

I have been going to the 15th Street Fisheries since I was a little girl and I still love it just as much.  Dine- Out Lauderdale is yet another cool concept for our town and I am going to try some more restaurants as it runs through October 12th.  I will let you know where I go…I hate my job. 🙂
