Hi! I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We have been celebrating the end of 2019 with several fun family activities! We had a visit from a petting zoo with the most engaging llama I have ever met. She actually holds the title of “the most requested llama” in Fort Lauderdale. Also, one of the lambs had just given birth to triplets the day before so a few of us got to catch a glimpse of the babies…so amazing! Everyone really enjoyed getting to meet the different animals. The movie, unfortunately, had to be moved into our ballroom because it was windy but it worked out ok because the Lakeview ballroom is very pretty and we still had the popcorn, glow jewelry, and gingerbread men for all the kids.
Our younger resort guests loved the early New Year’s Party for kids, which featured a Dj, craft station, and tasty appetizers that included coconut shrimp, raspberry puffs, beef skewers, and good old chicken tenders. At the end of the party, the kids gathered in a circle with their champagne glasses full of sparkling cider and each of them shared what they were grateful for in their lives….so sweet! Something new that we featured was an authentic photo booth that the kids could sit in and have their pictures taken. We are now busy gearing up for Chef Grant’s New Year’s Extravaganza.
