Hi! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have had a great holiday here at the resort. For all of the families staying with us, the Children’s Program has been a big success once again. From bingo to a circus and even a petting zoo, everyone had a blast!
As far as the circus goes, it has been over 25 years since our clown, Giggles, has been performing for our guests and it is obvious that she is loved both by the kids and the parents. At the circus the kids were so cute eating their cotton candy and playing games after having their faces painted. While I tried to guide the children to the buffet dinner once they entered the complimentary event, I was not successful most of the time, as most preferred to head straight to the snow cones and cotton candy! It was nice to see our guests so relaxed and having fun that no one seemed to mind that their kids were eating dessert before dinner. 🙂
We did have to move the circus into the ballroom because of the wind but our guests actually remarked that it gave them the opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Fountainview Lobby with yellow poinsettias everywhere! Several people commented on how beautiful the lobby looked. Honestly, we have the nicest guests…most have been coming for generations and think of us as family. We certainly think of them as family.
Speaking of decorations, I am so excited to see the rest go up this week! Before we move to Christmas I have to mention that, even today, I am still hearing rave reviews about Chef Phil’s Thanksgiving Dinner. While offering additional choices of a beautiful Halibut or a steak, the Roasted Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner was still the most popular item! I did put a picture of the Halibut on Instagram. If you don’t already follow us on Instagram, we invite you to start, as Demi, Dani and I promise to post lots of interesting pictures about Lago Mar frequently!
Tomorrow, I will run into the Resort Shop to see if I can find something new for the kids and I to wear to Christmas on Las Olas, taking place tomorrow, December 1, 2015. Fort Lauderdale is such a great place to be anytime, but even more so during the holidays!
