I am writing to you because I am passionate about sharing the story of my past year and the lifestyle changes I have made. Don’t get me wrong, my life was great before, but now I feel ten times better about myself. What I did was simple: I woke up one day after a tennis tournament, which I lost earlier than I should have due to lack of endurance and not being in the best physical shape, so I set a goal to change my eating habits. After all, food is fuel!

As of that moment, every morsel of food I ate was clean and organic, and I even tried to go gluten-free whenever I could. Thankfully, Lago Mar’s Executive Chef Phil Kahn helped me by providing many healthy options on his new menu. More often than not, I opted for our salmon entrée because Lago Mar is one of the few places to serve wild salmon, which is SO healthy. When I’m in the mood for something different, I will order the Pineapple Salad and add some grilled shrimp on top. That salad is the bomb, and I’m not saying that because I’m in love with the grilled pineapple and fresh raspberries. Oh wait…I am! I am really enjoying Chef Phil’s new menu, which features several gluten-free items like the organic Quinoa Roasted Chicken Salad that is absolutely amazing!

Additionally, I added many workouts to my fitness routine, many of which I complete in our fitness center using our state-of-the-art equipment. I also love our beach as a place to practice my yoga and stretching while breathing in the salt air. I definitely pampered myself with many of the available treatments in the spa as well. These included facials using Pevonia’s SpaTeen line and massage therapy to help with circulation and alleviate soreness from my many hours of training. As a result, I was able to begin 2016 with a newfound confidence from my fi t body to my clear skin.
