fort lauderdale international boat show promo November 12, 2015 3:50 pm

Hi! What an exciting week we have had here at the resort! Monday ended the 56th International Boat Show and it was absolutely incredible. The weather was great over the weekend and there was a lot of energy in our town. Chris and I spent most of the day on Saturday at the show and had a blast. It was very easy to see how great the economy is doing! There were so many floating docks with gorgeous boats of every size. We saw many expensive boats with “sold” signs. We noticed many people listening to live music and sipping on cocktails in the tents throughout the event. People from all over the world were enjoying our great city known as the “Yachting Capital of the World”. Chris did a good job of pretending not to notice the many young, beautiful Bud Light girls that were selling beer throughout the day! Of course, my favorite part of the show was walking along the docks looking at the mega yachts and feeling all of the glitz and glamour associated with them.

tuna poke new menu

The show ended at seven so we walked back to the resort and feasted on Chef Phil’s new menu that was launched last Thursday evening. We were joined by the kids and another family so we ordered several dishes to try between all of us and everything was awesome! We started with the Florida Ahi Poke, which was ahi tuna with scallions, avocado and plantain chips with a guava Florida poke sauce and sesame seeds. It was gone in a second! The girls and I loved the Pickled Vegetable and Hummus with the grilled naan! Demi and Dani were so thrilled with the many super foods Chef Phil added to the menu that they had to text him thank you right away. It was so cute! For dinner, we ordered the Mahi Mahi with the pina colada foam and persimmon relish and the snapper with the roasted red pepper butter sauce and quinoa risotto. So delicious. We can’t wait for this next weekend to try some more items on the new menu. We are so excited for our members and guests to join us soon.
