Hi! I hope you all were able to watch The Bachelor this past Monday night! The three-hour episode was filmed at our Sister Property, The Springs, in Costa Rica. My brother was so excited because this is the second time The Bachelor has been filmed at his place. (The Springs is the ONLY location the producers of the show have chosen twice!) Of course, he and I just had to have a “Bachelor Watching Party” at my house.
Since the show’s theme is romance, Valentine’s Day is near, and I am the Honoree for this year’s Tru-Hearts event for Heart Gallery of Broward County, taking place at Truluck’s Restaurant on February 20th, we decided to incorporate some fundraising into the evening. My teenage daughter, along with a few of her friends, approached most of the party guests holding a silver tray of roses (mimicking the show) and asked if they would like to buy a rose in honor of foster children in Broward County. (I currently serve on the Board of The Heart Gallery of Broward County, a respected not-for-profit committed to finding loving families for the hardest to place foster children.) Our guests were delighted to donate to such a worthy cause and the evening was spectacular!
There were hundreds of red roses all throughout my home and candles everywhere. It was fun to see how many people came dressed in red or pink festive attire. Such a great time watching the show, enjoying cocktails and delicious food, all while making a difference in many children’s lives! Make sure to watch next Monday for more surprises.
