Hi! I hope everyone had a fantastic Fourth! We sure did here at Lago Mar! The weather was great all day long with super sunny skies and a crystal clear ocean – perfect for swimming!
During the day we had our steel drummer on the lagoon island and then Craig Fitch, our guitarist, played during the evening hours until the fireworks began. Chef Phil and his staff did a wonderful job with the buffet servicing Acquario and The Sea Grape Terrace. My favorite entree was the Blue Cornmeal Crusted Snapper with lobster grainy mustard sauce. The kids loved the Hot Dog & Bratwurst Station and Chris loved the St. Louis Ribs and the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The Braised Collard Greens and Zucchini Cornbread were a hit with all of us. We all just had to sample some key lime pie and red velvet cake, too!
Between the holiday decorations throughout the property and most of our members and guests donning their red, white and blue, it wasn’t hard to feel very patriotic! I also enjoyed seeing all of our guests sitting on blankets on the beach and enjoying the many firework displays all around us! Nicole stayed late to help everyone celebrate the holiday by delivering cocktails to the viewers on the beach. We also kept the Ocean Grille open later as well as the Soda Shop to accommodate all of our members and guests on this special night.
