Hi! I am super excited to announce that we welcomed back our first large group meeting last week since the pandemic began. As with many of our groups, this corporate group has been meeting at Lago Mar for over thirty years!
Since we could not utilize our conference center during the pandemic, we decided to take advantage of the downtime and enhance many aspects of our Fountain View Lobby and meeting rooms to impress our groups when they were able to return. We definitely received rave reviews this past week – ranging from the large chairs we reupholstered in the conversation areas to the beautiful new covers on our 18-inch tables. I personally love our new tropical and unique sconces placed throughout the area.
Not quite as exciting, but vital in our endeavor to upgrade our Conference Center, is the project that has almost come to fruition, which is the replacement of the ceiling in the entire conference area including Ocean View North and Ocean View South. As always, we hear from the meeting planners and attendees about how nice it is to have meeting rooms with a nice view of the outside. We made sure when we designed the Conference Center that each meeting room had either glass doors to see the Lagoon Pool or windows to see Lake Mayan. Of course, all rooms have shades/drapes if the group prefers privacy. We felt and still feel it is important to provide an option for those planners who want to capitalize on the Florida sunshine and scenery while they are getting their business done.
